In case of dot matrix printer, the character is printed as a series of dots. The print head has pins which are very thin and moves horizontally. Inkjet printers spread out tiny ink droplets on to the paper but they produce high quality text. Laser printer makes the use of laser light to print and produce very good quality text. Line printers tend to give low quality but they move very fast.
